And I don't mean only the temperature - although it's once again into the mid-90s (mid-30s).
Walk a block, run into...the Empire State Building, a panhandler with his family of animals (see photo above), Tiffany's, the 24/7 Apple Store (but forget about buying a new iPhone, at least for now).

It’s easy to believe the saying that New York’s a great place if you have money.

“Looking good,” said the doorman at the Affinia Dumont Hotel in mid-town Manhattan (ranked #5 of 345 New York City hotels on TripAdvisor.com) where I’m staying, as he pointed at my sandals.  Was he having a bit of fun at my expense?   Or did he really think they were OK?
